Caring for an aging parent? A home health aide is not your only option.

Caring for an aging parent is a meaningful labor of love, but it can also bring stress and strain to a household when you need to care for your children and your elderly parent at the same time.

Wouldn’t it be nice to pick up the phone or text the doctor directly when your elderly parent has a medical issue — and have the doctor respond right away?

Membership-by-Subscription Concierge Medical Practice

Coordinating home health visits or planning to drive Mom and Dad to doctor’s appointments adds another layer of stress for busy families. Halo Health is a new mobile concierge medical practice that is delivering an easy and convenient solution to families struggling to care for elderly loved ones across the Triangle. Halo Health is a revolutionary membership-by-subscription concierge medical practice that allows the doctor to make house calls 24/7 and provide faster, more personalized care.

A medical provider arrives the same day at the patient’s doorstep in a specially-equipped vehicle that has everything you might find in a doctor’s office. Many medical issues can be resolved without a personal visit, and patient subscribers also have 24/7 access to the Halo Health providers by text, email and phone.

Dr. Dan Minior, a board-certified emergency medicine physician with more than 20 years of experience, launched Halo Health in April, after seeing the long wait times and cumbersome paperwork patients face to access medical care.

Care for an Aging Parent

“Halo Health is your personal on-call physician. We are a premier VIP medical practice that gets to know our patients, like family. We provide routine sick care in your home or at your work, and we also do everything you might experience at your doctor’s office, urgent care, or even an ER,” explains Dr. Dan, chief medical officer of Halo Health. “We’re talking about routine blood work, standard lab work, EKG, physicals, diabetes management, flu tests, COVID 19 tests, x-rays, care for chronic conditions, and even managing and dispensing medication to you, a particular confusing task for anyone who cares for an aging parent.”

Senior healthcare is a growing industry, and the number of people age 65 and older is expected to nearly double by 2050. Caregiving has risen from 16.6 percent in 2015 to 19.2 percent in 2020, according to the National Alliance for Caregiving and AARP.

With the pandemic creating health concerns, especially for the elderly, more families are taking in their aging loved ones and caring for them at home. While many families hire a home health aide to help, home health aides do not replace the patient’s physician.

Halo Health is helping to fill the gaps by providing more than just senior health care or at home care. Halo Health’s team of highly-trained physicians and clinicians have emergency room and primary care training and can help families manage common conditions among seniors like high blood pressure, diabetes, UTIs, as well as preventative care like pneumonia, shingles or flu vaccines.

“Halo Health’s high-personalized model of care means we have a relationship with each of our patients and know each patient’s health history and medical issues,” explains Dr. Dan. “Other on-demand healthcare services are starting to pop up, however these are one-time visits where the patient doesn’t know the provider, and the provider doesn’t know the patient’s health history.”

In addition to sick care, wellness care is an important part of Halo Health’s practice. As a result, the medical team can stay ahead of potential health issues before they become debilitating problems.

Quality Medical Care for Aging Parents in Their Home

“Getting older is not easy and taking care of an aging loved one can be even harder,” says Dr. Dan. “Not all elderly patients need home health aides, they just need access to quality medical care in their home, and often they want to know everything is OK if a symptom arises. The Halo Health team provides a level of comfort to everyone. Our patients know that when a doctor is needed, all they need to do is pick up the phone and call us for help.”

Halo Health is accepting new patients. You can learn more about the personalized 24/7 concierge medical care by contacting us.
